PSU Power Consumption

So, i am getting a new graphics card

I want the graphics card to be running for now before i get a new psu
Its been sitting in my drawer for about a month now

I used a psu calculator and if i combine all the parts the load wattage will be 227W

My psu is a 250 watt

If i use the psu to power my graphics card, will the pc have unexpected shutdowns and such?
Because if i dont use the graphics card right now and use my old one it will sit at about 155w

How about you post specs? Also model of your PSU.

System specs with the make and model of the PSU would be helpful. But more that likely you will need a new psu to safely power the system.

Mobo: Asrock H110M-HDV
Ram: G.Skill Aegis 4Gb ddr4
GPU: Amd Radeon 6450 1gb
PSU: Powerlogic 250W
HDD: WD 500GB

Thats the Specs
equals in about 155W

The GPU Is going to be upgraded to a R7 250X
Which makes it 227W

Yeah you'll need a new psu your current unit is a psu shaped fire hazard.

I think it will stress your PSu and make it fail, I would wait to get a new PSU first

With an AMD card, it will most likely exceed 250W, AMD's cards are known to go over the limit. Just hope it doesn't light on fire.
