PSU problems- wiring and connection

So I recently got a new CX750 and started plugging all the wires in. However, upon power on, the monitor won't connect. It's not the monitor, I'm pretty sure it's because the desktop isn't working right. I used a youtube tutorial to plug in the wiring.
I can take pictures if necessary.
Do certain components need to be linked together with PSU wiring?

It may also be that some of the wires that connect to my motherboard (MSI H81M-E33) got mixed up.

What do you mean by the monitor won't connect. Does it say no signal or is there no power to it? The psu has nothing to do with the monitor but make sure you have your cables coming from the gpu or motherboard properly connected to the monitors ports
