I'm stuck on an issue with changing out my PSU. I'm replacing the stock PSU with an Corsair HX750. The problem im having is after installation, when I plug the power cord in, all I get is the sound of the heatsink/Cpu fan. I get nothing on my monitor and I'm not getting the front power light as I did with the old PSU. After becoming frustrated with it, I put the old PSU in and now its having the same issue as the new one.

Specs
Mid size ATX tower
Athlon 2 x4 640
Alvorix-RS880-uATX
16 GB DDR3

Thanks you for any help, much appreciated.

That pc does not use a proprietary supply so you are ok there. Look for any PSU connectors you might have forgotten to plug back in such as the CPU power which is either a 4 or 8 pin connector. next I would check out the front panel wiring and make sure you didnt knock anything loose there.

When it comes to the cpu power, I have a 4 pin going into the MoBo, the PSU has and 8 and they come apart to make a 4 pin. Does it matter which one I use after splitting them? I wouldn't think so but who knows.

I removed the old PSU and installed the HX750 again, still having the same issues. I made sure that the cpu power was plugged in, the 20+4 is plugged in and secure, HDD sata cable is plugged in to the back of the psu to HDD, the red cord (forgot what is is called) is plugged in from HDD to MoBo. DVD/disk drive conntected the same way but with its own cord, red cord to MoBo and sata to the PSU. I don't see anything else that I could have missed. Im getting power to the MoBo as i see the green light on, when I get everything plugged in monitor, keyboard, mouse, sound, I turn on the power button on the front. Once turned on, all I get it the fans working on the CPU and PSU. Not getting anything on monitor, still don't have lights on the power button and unable to eject DvD drive. I'm stumped, anything I missed? I did happen to nudge the cooler over the CPU and it moved a little could that be an issue?
Thanks in advance for the help.

I ended up taking my computer to friend who has more knowledge of troubleshooting these kinds of issue and the outcome wasn't good. Apparently I fried the MoBo somehow, I made sure when I was installing the PSU that I was grounded, did the install while on a hardwood floor so who knows. So, I bought a new one however my case is too dang small for it to fit so just waiting on that and hopefully everything works. Just though I should close this thread, thanks to all that contributed.
