PSU requirements for GTX 980Ti SLI + i5-6600k - 850W by skin of my teeth? :-)

Title says it all guys. I have an M2 SSD and 2 x HDDs for storage and not much else connected. All my 6 fans are powered via a fan controller which itself is powered by a single 4 pin molex. Ideally I would be wanting a 100w more on my PSU I guess but I'd rather not change what is a 9/12 old quality PSU for the sake of adding another GPU.

850w should be minimum, anything over that is your decision and it comes down to what you can afford, remember just because the sticker says 850 the actual output will be less, in this case....more is better

550w minimum not 850w. More is always better, but enough is enough.

You can run GTX 980 Ti SLI with 850 watts lol. Have to get your facts right on this one

Yup, I pretty much knew that I could run both cards and still have plenty o headroom, despite what half the PC community and the manufacturers say/ think. Here's a link to a review of 980Ti 2 way SLI coupled with i7-5820k. The test build had a 1200w PSU, but the max power draw at the wall was 543w.... I'm sure I can find other examples out there
