I finished building a pc just a couple hours ago and it worked fine, i unplugged it to move it, and the next time i plugged it in it sparked and started smelling, could there be any damage to other components.
Everything "says" it has overvoltage protection.I mean everything has overvoltage protection so i will tryca different psu tommorow
Yes, there might be.I finished building a pc just a couple hours ago and it worked fine, i unplugged it to move it, and the next time i plugged it in it sparked and started smelling, could there be any damage to other components.
The psu is a Raidmax vortex 700w 80 plus bronzeYes, there might be.
To start, give us a full rundown of all the parts in this system.
In particular, the PSU make/model.
"The psu is a Raidmax vortex 700w 80 plus bronze"The psu is a Raidmax vortex 700w 80 plus bronze
Motherboard - aorus b450m
Graphics card- Ams radeon rx 580
Ram- Kingston hyperx 3200mhz 16 gb
Procesor - ryzen 7 2700x
The thing is the motherboard has blinking lights when i plug the pc in so it is getting somethingRaidmax 🤢. Yes there is a definite chance other hardware was damaged.
The only possible answer we out here can give is..."Yes, there is a chance."... could there be any damage to other components.
Means nothing. The thing is the motherboard has blinking lights when i plug the pc in so it is getting something

Well, that doesn't bode well.
Everything "says" it has overvoltage protection.I mean everything has overvoltage protection so i will tryca different psu tommorow
Means nothing.
So try different psu and hope?Everything "says" it has overvoltage protection.
The system was working.
There was a spark and burning.
It is now not working.
Ergo, something is broken.
That may be only the PSU. It may be other things as well.
That is literally all you can do.So try different psu and hope?
Ye true thatThat is literally all you can do.
And not another RAIDMAX.
Any recommendation?
