My PSU creates a static noise when I turn it on/off via the PSU itself, I've checked the wires inside and the power cable, any idea what it could be. Is the capacitor just failing?

Are you turning off the PSU without permitting a normal Windows/computer shutdown?

Is it just one static "snap" or brief "crackle" or an ongoing noise?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS.

PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition?

No the computer is shutting down completely, I even wait sometimes a minute after full shutdown, it's about 0.5 seconds but when powering it on lasts like 1.5 seconds doesn't persist after that at all.

I haven't changed anything so my PC is about 3~ years old but the PSU is only like 1.5 years old since my last one also blew.

Windows 64 bit pro
Intel I5 6600k 3.5GHz Quad-core

EVGA 650w GQ 80+ (OLD: Corsai RMi 650w 80 Gold)

Yes at the time I didn't think of that, I realised too late and I don't think I had proof of buying, I know I made a terrible/dumb decision but I need help with the PSU crackling/static noises coming from it do you know what the cause could be? or just cause it's a worse PSU than I had before?
