So, basically every PSU calculator I tend to use on the web always tells me what watts im at and then gives me a suggestion to which I should pick. They always seem to point at a 750w. But the max wattage that my build says it takes is 507w(according to a PSU calculator). However, I do understand that these are not 100% trust-able but its a good reference point.

My questions is. Would it be a problem for me to run a 650w PSU instead of having to go with the recommended 750w? I know my PSU needs to be upgraded in size because from time to time my games and PC will hang and sometimes I need to force a restart to get it running properly. When I was using my 800w I had no issues but sadly it died due to it being an extremely generic brand..

You are probably at the limit of what you need PSU wise at the moment, but yes, a 650W would be perfect for your build. Maybe the Corsair CX650M would be a good place to start. Or if you have the funds, the Seasonic S12II is a winner all round.

The bad quality generic PSU's are a nightmare, and should be avoided at all costs.
