It seems like it may be an 'alright' for the price PSU, but there are certainly better options out there.

Well that will be a very low power draw system. So 500W is plenty. However I would still consider a better quality PSU. Though having a good quality PSU isn't as sexy as a fast graphics card, what's really not sexy is an unstable computer due to a cheap power supply.
