I'm building a PC for a friend but I'm not sure how much headroom I need when it comes to the PSU.
AMD FX-6300
EVGA GTX 960
DVD drive
Samsung SSD
Western Digital 1TB
A PSU only draws what it needs from the wall, so going larger doesnt really matter. Any decent 400 watt will work, and still leaves you with more than enough head room to overclock even.

i would go with a good quality brand 500-550w as those are more worth it in money too but if you plan to put a second gpu lateron and verclock and all that get a 750-850w one so you are futerproofed and easy to upgrade.
But for now just stick with a 500w from seasonic, evga or xfx as those are the top brands.
