^ This is the PSU I'm trying to get in order to upgrade my desktop.

My desktop came with a 500W PSU - https://www.asus.com/us/Tower-PCs/G11CD-Oculus-Ready/specifications/
Asus

Unfortunately, I can't unscrew my desktop's case at the moment and I was just curious if a 650W power supply would normally be able to replace a 500W power supply.

I'm also replacing my CPU and GPU - GTX 970 with a Radeon rx 580 8gb

CPU - Intel® Core™ i5 6400 Processor with a Intel Core i5-8500 4.1 ghz turbo

With that being said, do I even need a new power supply? I'm just assuming I do because I don't really trust my stock PSU with these upgrades.

Looks like it should but the first order of business, should be for you open up the case side panel and send us a pic of the PSU's stickered information in order for us to understand if you have a mediocre PSU or if the current PSU will help you with your upgrades.

Okay, I plan on getting this thing opened within a few days. But seriously thanks for the reply I'm going to go ahead with the purchase and if it doesn't work out I'll probably end up returning it. Thanks again.
