Are there any PSUs that are designed to not destroy other components when the PSU blows-up, malfunctions, etc?

I've heard of PSUs that killed other components. I'm building a new comp so I'd rather not spend $1k on parts that are fried by the PSU as soon as I finish assembling the PC.

Solution
I have seen many instances of builds with high end components where the user picked a $45 PSU and as a result suffered other damaged components. Electronics fail and the cheaper the components used in their making the more likely this will happen. Personally, I look for 10.0 jonnyguru ratings for overclocking builds and 9.5 for everything else.

1st Tier included Corsair HX series (except 1000 and 1050 watters), Corsair AX series, Antec Signature and CP series, Seasonic X series
2nd Tier included Corsair TX V2 series (skip ones with M suffix), Antec HCG/HCP, XFX Core Edition
