Heres my situation:

I just upgraded my motherboard, memory, and processor from below:
nVidia nForce 650i Ultra
2 - 2 GB DDR2
Intel E4500

To this setup:
Gigabyte EP45T-UD3LR
2 - GSkill 2GB DDR3-1600
Intel Q9400

Anyways, I am not able to get power from my Ultra X-finity 600W power supply. What I do not get is when I switched to 230V on the power supply, I got power but my nVidia GTS250 was not getting power and nothing would display.

I am not sure if it is my power supply or something I did wrong. I reconnected everything, and disconnected anything I did not need to boot up (just in case I needed the power).

Any ideas? I do not want to spend cash for a power supply until I am sure that may be the issue.

I hope I didn't fry it... I'd might have to punch a baby... (jk)

I will purchase a Corsair PSU tomorrow, and I could always return it. I will update you guys tomorrow.

Also, I did research on my PSU and it's known to fail, especially the fans. So I may be due for an upgrade anyways.

Ultra is a Tigerdirect's brand. They just put the Ultra name on it and buy it from whoever. Usually, they aren't the best built units. Rosewill same thing for newegg. Others do this too, but have much higher standards like the Corsair you're planning to buy. Channel Well Technology probably made it. But they are a good manufacturer.

Can't go wrong with Corsair. Hopefully buying locally won't be too much more than the etailers.

If you are in the Land of 120 volts, switching the PSU to 230 volts will not cause any damage. The system just won't boot because the "PowerOK" signal never comes up.

The converse is not true. Plugging a PSU set to 120 volts into 230 volts will fry something.

With the 650W Corsair PSU I bought, all is well.

I believe my previous 600W PSU could not handle the load because it was not efficient enough or on its way out. I got what I paid for essentially.

Thank you all for the help.

Now I need to do my research on overclocking my memory...
