My computer sometimes doesn't get power at all (no fans or anything) and won't start. But sometimes it works fine and starts straight away.

It's really strange because I don't check anything (cables, etc) and then it works suddenly.

Is this power supply failing?

Thanks

Make sure all cables, DIMM's and video card are properly connected/inserted (pull them out and re-insert to to certain).

Best way to check PSU is to use another known working PSU (at hand or borrow one). If the computer starts and runs then the original PSU is faulty. If computer still doesn't start (properly) then the motherboard may be faulty.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690 @ 3.50GHz, Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760, Motherboard: Gigabyte H97 Gaming 3, PSU: Cooler Master RS-550-ASAB S1 550W MEPS PSU. There is no strange smell or anything being emmited from the psu.
