hi is this power supply ok for my setup : 1000w thermaltake though power
i have a:
intel core i7 920 and im OC it to 3.5 Gh
dominator 6gb 1600
2x geforce gts 250
bigwater 760i
2x 250gb hard drive
320gb hard drive
640 gb hard

yes but that could run 3 or even 4 gts 250's but thermaltake a lil skectchy i'd rather get a corsair tx850/tx950 wich will be fine for anything and better quality

A pair of GTS250's need about 18 - 20 amps. A Corsair 750TX (60 amp 12 volt rail)

but i also have 4 hard drives and the video card procesor and RAm are going to be OC is this power supply going to be ok...sorry but im a noob.heheheh

The general rule of thumb is a high quality 500 to 550 watt power supply with sufficient current (amps) on the +12 volt rail(s) can easily power an overclocked system with any single video card made. A high quality 700 to 750 watt power supply with sufficient current (amps) on the +12 volt rail(s) can power an overclocked system with two video cards operating in dual mode. There are a few exceptions like the new ATI Radeon HD 5000 series cards which use less power due to their energy efficiency.

A high quality 500 to 550 watt psu will have a +12 volt rail rated at 40 amps. A high quality 700 to 750 watt psu will have a +12 volt rail rated at 60 amps.

In addition the power supply should be at least 80+ Bronze certified for energy efficiency. There are some models available which have achieved 80+ Silver and 80+ Gold Certifications.

Corsair and Seasonic are two of the brands that have a reputation for high quality power supplies that consistently earn high marks in technical reviews. They are reliable, stable, and come with a 5 year warranty. Some of the newer models come with a 7 year warranty. Lately we've been seeing a few other brands offering some high quality units.

Either way, reviewed very well. Its made by Channel Well Technology using their PUC design, same as the Corsair 1000HX. So I'd go on price and what you value warranty wise. Corsairs offer up 5 years, but I think the Thermaltakes only do 3.

If you need to save a little money, a 850w PSU would be fine with a water kit and SLI cards, everything OC'd.

Haven't looked up the reviews on the Zalman yet, but the OCZ is one of the best out there at gold certification and stays in spec when run over its rated limit:

The 3.3v and 5v regulation weren't the best, but everything else was top notch.
