So I was thinking about upgrading PSUs of a few older setups so I could make some room for some potential small upgrades in the future but I realized one thing. I'm terrible when deciding between PSUs, so naturally I decided to see if the PSUs I'm interested in are listed on sites like jonnyguru but don't seem to be able to find these two.

(Canada)
EVGA BA: https://www.newegg.ca/evga-500-ba-1...cription=psu&cm_re=psu-_-17-438-188-_-Product
Corsair CX Series: https://www.amazon.ca/Corsair-Semi-...ords=CP-9020121-NA&qid=1599975211&sr=8-8&th=1

I'm looking at these two because they fit my budget as well as the wattage requirement.

Theres also this one that I'm curious about: https://www.amazon.ca/Cooler-Master...AMAAB-US+MasterWatt+550&qid=1599979714&sr=8-1 .

And would you say this tier list is reliable?

The 2012 CX-M is the green labeled one and is the lower quality model and should be avoided.

The one you linked is the newer 2015 grey labeled CX-M and is decent.

That 2017 CX550 in your first post is a bit better than the 2015 CX-M, but overall I'd consider them both being in Tier B.

So, green label CX/CX-M should be avoided while the grey labeled CX/CX-M are decent budget units.

The Corsair CX550 is actually a decent PSU. On the other side I've never heard of that EVGA and personally wouldn't trust it. They make quite crappy units on their low end stuff.

My choice would be the CX550 here definitely.

If you are interested in a review, here's an in depth one made by Tom's Hardware for the CX650(it's the same with the CX550, just higher power output):

I've that for EVGA it's hit or miss and depends on what series of PSU you buy, for example ive heard the BR and BQ series are either complete crap or are just beyond unreliable. I've also been looking at rosewill branded ones but I cant seem to find reviews on the ones I want.

If you can't find reviews for a PSU you'd better pass, as more often than not they're low quality units.

Nope and I wouldn't trust them either.

They maybe have some expensive models that are decent, but I'd avoid any of their cheap stuff.

As budget PSUs go the Corsair CX/CXM series are your best choices really.
I'll probably go for the CX series. But could you have a look at this? https://www.amazon.ca/Cooler-Master...AMAAB-US+MasterWatt+550&qid=1599979714&sr=8-1
I saw it mentioned on a tier list on another forum though I'm not entirely sure if its reliable. (https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psucultists-psu-tier-list/ )

Should be avoided.
We have the same tier list here too.

That CoolerMaster is in Tier D. You should avoid everything that's below Tier B.

Is the CX series I posted in tier B or tier C?
