Hey guys so I was replacing a dead cpu with a new one and as I took the heatsink off the processor came with it.... The new processor installed fine and the machine seems to run fine (I just re-installed windows). So my question now, is the motherboard socket damaged at all by what happened? I'm using a AMD A8 processor so the pins are on the CPU not the MOBO. Please help guys I'm quite worried about this.
Wow thanks for the fast response guys. Yeah I'm glad to hear its not likely to be damaged. I'm just a fanatic when it comes to doing things right and when I pulled that cpu out I was like WTF! lol
I even twisted first to let the air in the seal and didn't pull hard. I've removed cpus before so it just freaked me out is all. Thanks again guys
