So my siste'rs old iBook G4 14in is dead. I told her I could pull her Hard Drive out and try and get all her music off of it. I was just wondering if I was going to encounter any problems because the HD has a Mac OS installed. If I pull it into my Windows 7 Machine is it going to start trying to run Mac OS also? Am I going to be able to even see the HD on my computer? I was planning on just buying a HD enclosure and and plugging it in. Will this even work? Am I going to blow a hole in the space-time continuum?

Hi

Windows will see the drive in bios, device manager & disk management

But not in windows explorer
There are a few program drivers to let you read Mac OS disks
Most require you to pay to use, though there may be a short trial period

If you can find a bootable live Linux cd and boot up the PC you will find a file manager which can browse to the files

Example parted magic (costs about 5 usd to download)
There are probably others available
