Pulling the plug on a desktop

Hi, I'm on a trip and I forgot to turn my desktop off as well as my monitor. My grandpa was the only one home and I had to call him to turn it off. He didn't know how to do and after trying to get him to hold the power button or shutting it down from the Windows start menu I had to tell him to pull the plug for both. Is it ok if I pulled it out just one time.

its okay to pull out;

innuendo's aside it's fine, happened to me plenty of times when I was younger and my mum used to pull the plug. Shouldn't be anything to worry about.

I've had the power cut out on me a few times while my UPS is being fixed. It certainly isn't recommended but once shouldn't be a problem.
