I have a slow pulsing light inside my computer that continues to pulse after shutdown. Is this the motherboard light?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You've posted this thread in the motherboard's section, would help us if we knew the make and model of the motherboard. My guestimation is that you're referring to the standby/status LED for your motherboard when it's powered down but not turned off from the wall.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

It's possibly OK since some motherboards with RGB capability keep the motherboard's RGB lighting on after shutdown. It's a bit weird all alone but when part of a complete RGB setup it can be pretty awesome looking if that's your thing. You can probably turn it off in BIOS or using a motherboard utility; or change that "heart beat" pulse to a steady light or another pattern, possibly even use other colors.

That's just a guess. Better answers come when you include information like make, brand, model of motherboard and other components.

There is another LED light in the ethernet connector that will remain blinking with LAN activity from your router. It's still on when the computer is shut down because most network cards have default settings to allow starting up the system by a command from the network in case it's located within a managed network. That can be disabled within advanced network card settings in device manager.

Thank you for your response! I have been reassured that this is normal for my Asus motherboard. I will definitely include all the specs next post. Embarrassed I didn't think to do it in my first post. Thank you all for you info and patience.
