Question Purchase Advice: WFH Display + Keyboard with Surface Book 2

Hi There,

I'm looking to build my WFH office, starting with my Surface Book 2 with Dock (the one with 2 mini Display Ports).

I'm thinking about having the laptop on a stand, have an additional display, and a new keyboard. Something like what this guy did: View: https://www.reddit.com/r/Surface/comments/kfmydd/surface_allin_book_3_duo_keyboard_arc_mouse_pen/

Display-wise, I'm looking for some quick advice. My use will mostly be work (Microsoft Office / GSuite), I would like to keep cost between $150 and $300, for the size I'm thinking about 24" but curious to hear thoughts about larger formats, and resolution-wise I would prefer something over FHD.

Can you guys weigh in on this and maybe point me to a few models?
FYI, I'm in the US, so would probably buy something from BestBuy / Amazon.

Keyboard-wise, I was thinking to keep it in the MS family and get the Surface Keyboard. However, lots of reviews mention the Bluetooth connection goes idle after a few minutes of inactivity and doesn't kick back in quickly. So I am thinking about getting the Logitech MX instead. Looks like a safe buy.

If you guys can let me know your thoughts, that would be much appreciated! Thanks!

you can't future proof by making a monitor higher reoslution

do you what mechanical swicthes?

and lastly, 4k monitors will not making icons smaller. They will be the EXACT same size as the ones on the laptop screen if you measure it

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the reply.

Do you mean mechanical switches for the keyboard? If that's the case, not that's not necessary for me. I don't game much anymore and a keyboard with a nice feel and that's "quiet" is more important to me.

Thanks for clarifying the 4k resolution size matter. Then again, as you point out, since future-proofing is not really a thing, getting 4K on 24" might be pointless. Any recommendations?
I'm thinking budget-wise, $150 to $300 for the monitor, ideally height-adjustable with default foot, and maybe 1440p?
