Purchased a headset, doesn't work. Please help.

Hi, I recently purchased a HyperX Cloud gaming headset, and it is the first headset I have ever had to not utilize a USB plugin. It just had the Audio(green) and the Microphone(red) plugs. When I put them in my computer, I don't have any sound. I am on a desktop computer running Windows 8. Please help.

Is the volume set high enough in windows? It changes for different playback devices.
Are the drivers installed?

From what I've read trying to find out a fix, it seems like headsets without a USB do not have drivers of any sorts. I cannot even find the device in Windows, which is what lead me to believe that it's not even picking it up.

You would need the drivers for the mic and sound connections. Which would be included with the motherboard drivers normally. What pc are we talking about?
