Purchasing out-of-production screen replacement

A friend was giving away a broken TV (Sharp 26" LC 26SH12U) and naturally, I took it off his hands. It was fully functioning, but the screen was cracked, I took it apart, almost removed the screen, when I decided to look online to see if I'd even be able to purchase a replacement screen for it.

Problem: It's out of production, and no one seems to carry a replacement screen for it.

Short of making my own, would my best bet be to contact Sharp and ask for dealers? Or are there websites/links that I just haven't found yet?

After doing some research, I would recommend contacting Sharp. It doesn't seem to be an easy thing to find.
