I am planning on buying windows 7 ultimate online for my new computer. I can get it online for less money than if i buy it in disk form. However, if i buy it online, would i be able to download it to a flash drive to boot my new computer with it or would it be downloaded onto the existing computer? And if i can download it to the flash drive, how would i make sure the OS stays on my SSD?

Solution

1. There is ZERO need for Win 7 Ultimate. There is no performance benefit.
2. Anywhere you find it currently without the actual disk is suspect. Seriously.
3. You might be able to download the ISO file from MS. Maybe.
4. Just a regular install on the SSD.

Agreed.

You will almost never get a legit copy of windows from ebay.
And any company saying they will email you the license key is also bogus. By law according to license agreement you MUST put the COA (the license key) sticker on the PC, thus even if they had you download the OS they would have to mail you the COA sticker.
