What sup guys. i have a question about push and pull system. Few days ago i installed aerocool fan control panel and i just ordered new corsair pwm high performance series fans. I decided to change into both same fans because currently i use 2 different fans. Can i plug main fan (first fan) to cpu fan connector in motherboard and another to fan controller.. Or i have to plug it into sys fan connector in motherboard? My fan controller support 4 pin connector's as well. for me would be easier to plug into controller otherwise i need to take off my graphic card, because i use sli (6slots use). As i know all 4 pin must be pwm or in fan control panel is differently?

Also if i connect to fan control panel do i just leave with standard speed? I dont know how sys fan connectors work in motherboard do they control speed as cpu fan connector or it runs on standard fan speed.

Solution
while what you want to do will work, it might not work so well. You want push pull to have matching cfm and rpm, so having on in the mobo and one in the fan controller will likely mean running at two different speeds.

Higher end motherboards have two cpu_fan spots, for what you describe. alternatively you could get away with a fan splitter cable and running two fans on the same cpu_fan channel. this way they will have same pwm control (but try to keep the fans the same or very similarly matched when doing push pull on the CPU cooler)

the motherboard channels use temp to control rpm/speed (i.e in a "smart" way; PWM fans), fan controllers use just voltage to control speed and are generally less accurate in controlling speed, and offer...

What parts you need to know? I'm not at home and texting via phone. My mobo - GA-990FXA-UD3, fan for cpu vill be 2x corsair air series pwm performance edition. My cpu fx8350 and my cooling system for cpu corsair h 60 - 2013 edition. Nvidia sli gtx 680 gigabyte soc edition (both). 16gb of ram corsair xms3 2000mhz, aerocool touch 2100 lcd touch screen control panel, psu 1000w ozc cant remember model. 3x ssd's Kingston hyperx 3k, ozc vector, crcial m500. Hope this will help
