I'm completely new to overclocking so i thought i might ask here for some advice on it. I want to push my athlon 2 x4 640 to its limit but i can't seem to find anything on amd's site for this cpu. I know theres a menu in my bios for this but i don't know what to set for it. I'm on a asus m5a78l-m lx v2, 4g ram and a gtx 550ti(i can't remember the exact id for it, i know its a gigabyte though).

All you need from BIOS are settings for CPU multiplier and Vcore voltage. Basically just raise multiplier step by step and voltage to go with it, smaller steps possible. Keep on checking for temperatures and stability AOD has stability test.
Just make sure that your cooling is adequate, will not get far on stock cooler.
Use AOD (AMD overdrive) to check temperatures and other vital data. Don't use for overclocking.
