Put in a CD, computer shuts off

Hello,
My old CDrom was not spinning the CD, so I upgraded to a Samsung S-222A DVDrom, now I put in a CD and the computer shuts off. Help Please

Sun Cheer sc-301 300w, I tried unplugging fans which did not help.
It runs fine until I put in a cd and then within 3-4 seconds computer shuts down and takes a couple of minutes before can restart. Then I start pushing the button to get the CD out and its fine again..
