Put old 500gb into new gaming computer

Can i build a gaming pc without buying storage and use an old storage from an older computer and put it in the new gaming pc without having to buy windows again?

Is this old drive meant to be storage, or are you hoping to boot into the existing Windows install that lives on it?
Booting from that old drive will probably not work. You need to reinstall the OS.

Buying Windows again is a whole different question. Maybe, maybe not.

But in any case, you will almost certainly need to reinstall the OS with the new hardware.

You'll have to re-install windows again if you are going to move to a new PC. But you can move in the hdd.
