It's a long story but I'll try to shorten it as best as I can.
At the beggining of this week I bought an I7-4790K second hand and it is in fully working condition.
I opted to change it instantly as soon as it arrived. I then replaced it. For some reason when I boot up it goes into an endless boot cylce (on for a few secs then shutdown and so on) I changed it back to the I5-4430 and it again: gave me an endless boot cycle. So at this point it surely was something to do with the motherboard for some odd reason, and it was. 3 or 4 pins were bent during the installation.
This may be due to the fact I was carelessly taking out the I5-4430 or when inserting the I7-4790K I was pressing on the CPU too hard or something. So I went out and bought the exact same model of the mohterboard (GA-H78M-HD3 socket LGA1150) saving me from doing complete re-installation of WIN10. (I've done motherboard swaps before with the exact same model and it works). It will arrive later on this week and my question is:
What should I do first? Insert i5-4430 boot up and test or go straight ahead with the new CPU (I7-4790K) with the new mobo? Inserting the i5-4430 will make sure that everything is fully in working order or configure the new motherboard? I'm not sure? Or dive straight ahead with the I7-4790K?
Update: both CPU works, no scratches or anything
