i did get license through my university so maybe they have special agreement that allows this

Win 7 license is per machine, can't use the same code on 2 machines unless you have a corprate volume license. If it's an OEM license you can't even move it to another PC legally even if the old PC is shredded.

I'm thinking you will see "this windows is not valid" messages on one of those computers soon.

it's not oem. who knows, maybe my university gets corporate volume licenses. i guess only time will tell at this point.
