Put together a list of components for a gaming pc, need feedback/advice

So this was my first go at making a gaming pc, I was wondering if anyone could give me any feedback, or see anything wrong/that could be improved?

(I am very knew to this whole thing, so please don't hate me if I made a stupid mistake)

You need a case, PSU, and OS as well as keyboard/mouse and monitor. If you have a case already, what is it. and what is your PSU?

Here's how I would change your build.

You do not need that cooler. Stock will work just fine and if you eventually do need a cooler, an under $40 big air cooler is cheaper, easier, better, and quieter.

I would rather select a Z97 motherboard than the X87 you chose. The one I have recommended is very good, cheap with rebate, and about the best you can get at that price.

I would not recommend anything less than 240Gb for SSDs. Bigger is faster and my 256 is getting full with OS and a couple of games. My latest builds use 500Gb.

Thanks for all your help, I guess I forgot to mention my case and psu, here are the 2 items I was looking at
PSU: Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX
Case: NZXT Phantom 410 ATX Mid Tower Case

I also looked at the Z97 motherboard and it looks a lot better, will replace.

In terms of a keyboard mouse and monitor I have literally no idea what to get and would greatly appreciate suggestions.

Unless you plan to run SLI paired GPUs later, 450W is enough to run that system, since you will (cannot) overclock that CPU.

The EVGA B2 0750 VR is better in every way than the PSU you have selected and, with rebates, about 20% cheaper. It is my standard 'go-to' PSU for that power. If 450W ish will do the business, then http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-110b20750vr is still the best choice ! at the moment.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/top-best-computer-monitors,3917.html is the latest scan. Monitors depend a lot on what you want/do I'm using a 26" Vizio HDTV at 1080p over HDMI, but I plat RTS and RPG.

I use a Cooler Master entry-level Devastator keyboard and mouse with a blue backlight/night like, that my wife likes the color of.
