I have wiped the hard drive and created vista bootable disk for usb which works but then I get he "No drivers were found. Click load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation. Any help I would really appreciate I am pretty desperate.

thanks

Hi there saintc,

In a similar thread, the user solved the issue the following way: "When Windows is asking for driver, just click Cancel. You will be brought back to the welcome screen. At the welcome screen, remove your USB drive, insert it back to DIFFERENT USB PORT. Click Install Now again. The installation process will be like usual. "
If this does not help, check this out: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/windows-7-installation-problem-hard-drive-not-found

Hope this will help,

Unfortunately that did not work, I should mention I am trying to install vista. Also when it's asking for drivers can I not just download the drive it needs of the Internet?

I'm obviously not great with computers so a stupid question I am going to ask. Which driver do I need when it's giving me that error I can't find a hard drive driver. My laptops the Packard bell easy note lj61.
Thanks a lot

I know I'm being a pain but I really appreciate your help! IM now going to use windows7 and there is no chipset driver for windows 7 on there, what do I do now?
Thanks

You can contact the laptop's manufacturer either by mail or by phone for that.
Apart from all this, are you sure the drive is healthy? You can try reseating the drive.
Is the drive clean? On the boot disk get past the language selection, select Repair, open Command Prompt and type the following commands:
diskpart
list disk
select disk <number>
clean
