Putting old gpu back in

basically i bought the 770, put it in and then the 970 came out and i wanted that. but, I have to return the 770 to best buy today and I wont have the 970 for a few weeks and i want to use my old 580 to play games while i wait. can't i just put that card back in there since the drivers are good?
