The manual for this unit does not say anything about supporting bridged mode. Is it safe to assume that I can do so by connecting to only the (Front R +) and (Front L +) or do amps specifically have to be designed to allow it? The front outputs are rated for 80 watts/channel so I would like to get 160 watts mono.

Here is a pic of the back.

Maybe you can suggest a solution for my situation. I want to hook up the output of this receiver to a 6-channel speaker selector with individual volume controls and impedance protection. I want the left and right audio to be combined before I feed it into the selector. i.e., combined into a mono signal. I would also like to increase the output power if possible. I don't want to use the rear, center, or remote speaker options that the receiver offers. What are my options?
