So I have this Dell Optiplex 790 sff lying around and I was wondering if it would work to put the parts in a bigger tower so I would have room for a bigger psu and graphics card. Is that possible or should I get a new motherboard with the right slots and ports?

There are so many pitfalls trying to do that... best to use the 790 SFF as is and plan on going with a retail build instead. Dell has too many proprietary oddities to make a swap like that workable.

Btw, I had a Optiplex 790 SFF (i5-2400) and used a low-profile GTX 1050 Ti in it with no issues. So, there's that option if you want to make it serve as a gaming PC.
