Putting Windows 7 on new Motherboard

Hello, last night I- being the genius that I am- fried my motherboard on accident; it is an Asus M5A97 Evo (AM3+). I have tested all the other components by installing them in a different computer and they work but I want my computer back, so my question is this:

If I buy another M5A97 motherboard, will my copy of Windows 7 work on it?

I have read that Windows 7 installs paired specifically to the motherboard but can I get away by replacing my motherboard with one exactly like it and all the chipsets (AMD 970, SB950) are the same?

My other question is this: If, so long as the chipsets are the same, can I get away with the M5A97 LE?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Although your license may not show as valid on the new motherboard, as long as you notify Microsoft and explain the situation, they should grant you a new license (without purchase). You should be able to go to the LE version without issue since the base model of the motherboard is the same and EVO's are getting hard to source
