[SOLVED] PVCu Solvent Cleaner to clean parts

I am wondering whether or not this item can be used to clean parts like the motherboard or graphics card. I do not have isopropyl, this is all I have found but I can get it if this will not do.

I wouldn't use it....as it looks to be PVC primer and PVC primer disolves some plastics.

No, main base is petroleum which is a bad idea.

I've seen brake cleaner work on some PCBs that had extremely nasty build-up (we're talking decades of neglect) and still work, but the old tried-and-true isopropyl alcohol is still the best solution.

Yes I've used brake cleaner and carb cleaner on electronics.
I wouldn't recommend it as a blanket statement.
If there is plastic involved....you need to be careful and possibly do a test first.

The word 'solvent' is a dead give-away. And motherboards are covered with a thin film to prevent oxidation and protect extremely delicate components and circuitry. Why you'd want to dissolve that protection is beyond me.

The CRC cleaner mentioned above is pure isopropyl alcohol in a spray can. Can be used directly into the socket if needs be.

Cleaners and solvents are not the same thing, nor synonymous, even if the expectation is the same. You don't use a commercial grade engine degreaser to wash dishes, even if the dishwash soap is designed to 'cut grease'.

Thanks everyone, I went ahead and ordered isopropyl wipes and liquid so everything should be fine. Cleaned everything ahead of rebuild.
