Hi all,

Sorry if I've posted in the wrong category but I figured this was the most appropriate since I am looking for a new hard drive, just not for a PC.

My Freesat recorder is suffering from intermittent pixelation/stuttering on recordings and I'm putting it down to the HDD which is an 8 year old SATA WD AV Green 320GB. I was going to replace it like-for-like but I now understand these drives were discontinued a while ago. After reading recent reviews of them on Amazon and people receiving old and dead drives, I'm looking to buy something current.

Which drive should I purchase that matches or betters the specs of my current drive? In particular I want something reliable that is designed for the purpose and can handle being written to constantly and has Silkstream technology or similar for smooth playback of recordings. Capacity doesn't matter too much, 500GB would be plenty.

Thanks in advance!
