Hi,

A couple of friends and I have decided that it might be fun to join an
online Persistent World as a group. we're all new to online NWN, but are
familiar with the game, and have a goodly nunmber of years of PnP gaming
behind us (over 20 years in one instance!)

The problem is, where to start? There's a lot of servers out there, so
we're looking for some suggestions. Glorwing look promising, as we're
after Roleplaying rather that hack 'n' slash.

Ideally, we'd want to start out as a group, so a world sympathetic to
group rather than solo play would be good.

Any advice?
Cheers
Tony

I would suggest you try Demonrealms (Mystic Realms 2). Information can be
found at http://www.demonrealms.net

No, I don't work for them. It is just a place I play, when not DMing on a
different PW (which, I'd love to suggest to you if it were actually up at
the moment - the creator is redoing things).

See you there.

Tony,
I have tried a few persistent worlds, and if you are into the style of
play you decribe, i seriously recommend www.narfell.com.
Narfell is very much roleplay enforced, and group play is almost
essential for survival.
Check out the forums first and feel free to message me on the forums
there (Darkpowder) for ideas and questions about the server.

all the best, and see you there - let me know if you decide to give it
a look.

I dont usually do plugs for my server. However I'll throw it out there just
the same. My server is called Dragon Myrth. It can be found listed under the
PW Story listing.
It features a custom Middle Earth setting. It's been up for over a year now.
Here's the basic info.

Dragon Myrth Server: 64.157.106.197:5122
GameSpy Listing: PW Story - Dragon Myrth

Game Version: Classic NWN v1.65 + CEP v1.50
Custom: CEP Portraits & Heads for players
Server Rulesets: ILR, ELC, custom HCR, Custom
PvP: Full above level 2
Rest Rules: Food & Time restrictions, other
Death Penalty: Varies with level, (none-perm)
Setting: Middle Earth Second Age
Primary Player Base: Role Play
Level/Wealth Progression: Slow/Slow
Area Size: 500+ (land & sea travel)
Quest Availability: Very High
Public Release mod: No
Password: No
Player Forum: Yes
DM Staff: Yes (adult staff)
Dedicated Server: Yes
Internet Connection: Dual T1
Persistent & Crash Resistant Database: Yes
Bug Response Time: 1-72 hrs.

The mod has been going through game balance fixes and other bug fixes and
the newest version is due to go live in March, so it might be benificial to
try it after the end of the month rather than now as the database will be
wiped when the new mod comes out and everyone will start over as a n00b
player then. I wouldnt say my server is the best out there. It probably isnt
and I'd be very surprised if it was. I do have many loyal players though,
some of who have been on the server for over a year now.

Which ever server you end up on, I hope your MP experiance is a good one.
