Pwm fan spiltter question

I have the silverstone ones in my cart and i see that 1 has 4 pins and one has 3 pins on the y adapter? Why and is this right?

Yes that would be fine. Generally, assuming you are connecting 2 identical PWM fans with that splitter, the 2nd fan does not need the SENSE pin to monitor its rpm (only one fan's speed is needed to be monitored/displayed).
