Pwrsw screwdriver test not working

I can't get the pwrsw to turn on my computer case. I can't get it to start using the screwdriver test either. The green light on my motherboard is on and my psu seems to be working from the paperclip test. Help!!

Old setup. New ssd for Christmas. Had computer working yesterday.

Try clearing the CMOS. Unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for a minute. Sometimes it works wonders, If no magic, it could be a board issue. Try leaving only CPU and CPU cooler and test again. If no go...

No luck when unplugging psu and clearing cmos battery then plugging it all back in.

Then try starting it with only CPU and CPU cooler. If still no go, it might be a dead board.

Still nothing. Only things plugged into the psu. The green light on my motherboard is on but I can't start the fans with a screw driver.

The installation of the new SSD might have shorted the board.

Dammit. You're probably right. I can run my other fans led case lights etc. Using the paper clip. The only thing that won't power up is the motherboard. But what confuses me is that the green motherboard light is on???

There's an issue with the 12V rail, I guess.

So is it the motherboard or the cable?

The motherboard. But you can't be 100% sure until testing different one.
