I'll start with nowhere did I find an article describing Q codes that change every second while in Windows 10. typically between 34-35 but sometimes 40+

This started after some changes so let me explain.

I was using XMP on 3200 RAM with an OC on the CPU to 4.6Ghz been stable since January.

To troubleshoot issues with what I thought was either PSU or GPU (Lockups while gaming with loud buzzing so I first switched PSU was fine for a while then the same issue. both good 1000W PSUs the first an 80+ platinum toughpower, second 80+ bronze Rosewill).

Past set up
So I have an Asus Maximus VIII extreme
6700k @ 4.6Ghz 1.375v
32GB (2x16) of Ripjaws V 3200MHz RAM XMP (it's rated 3200 @ 16 timing)
14% Core GPU OC
All is cooled custom hardline waterloop.
I've been building systems over 15 years.

Temps always way below max even VRM on GPU not higher than 60C. CPU 75C, GPU 55C, VRMs 60ish at most. I have a RAM fan angled on my VRMs to provide some active cooling a ton of high end fans with positive air pressure. Heat = not probelem

Current Settings with crazy Q-codes...
6700k @ 4.5Ghz 1.375v
32GB (2x16) of Ripjaws V 3000MHz XMP 16 timing.
No OC on GPU
I'm using the Rosewill PSU as I RMA the toughpower as I was convinced for about a week the PSU swap fixed the lockups while gaming with loud buzzing sound.

What could cause Q-codes to randomly change while in OS?

Has anyone seen this?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry guys found the answer. Let this be a lesson. No matter how long you have been doing something we all make mistakes.

Here is mine:
during the troubleshooting of the PSU or GPU I decided to throttle back my OC and apply some "auto rules" in the BIOS. One one those while not reading the description was the Q-code. Apparently on this board if you set the Q-Code to Auto it will show post code during post then switch to the CPU temperature. So the jumping between 30-40s was just that my CPU temps. lol.

And what's worse is I knew this already but had completely forgot...It dawned on me driving from the Dr's office this morning. Well if someone is searching in the future and comes across this hopefully it helps.

BTW thanks for your...
there is a known code bug that prime95 people found on the skylake cpu. it caused a bios upgrade to be sent out for all mb vendors. have you put the newest bios file on the mb. with the ram set at stock speed 2100 does the q code errors stop. if they do it may be you have bad memory controller in the cpu.

BTW thanks for your advice on the bios update. I actually did that right after purchasing the board, but thank you for the suggestion!
