I have a slight irk with my Maximus VIII Ranger: the Q-Code led will not stop illuminating when the PC is off. Code 00 always appears. I am confident that this never used to appear when I turned my PC off. When I hit the power switch on the back of the PSU to off, the led is still on! but the led does get dimmer.
The only way for me to get rid of it is to pull the 24 pin out and reconnect it. As soon as I reconnect it, it completely disappears.
Does anyone know why the Q-Code LED does not turn off when I turn my PC off?
On a side note (might be possibly related) I recently moved PC locations and I had experienced a "Power supply surges detected during the previous power on. Asus Anti-surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply unit! Press F1 to Run Setup" message for the first time when I tried to turn the PC back on.
I contacted a Corsair Rep via RMA and they suggested to turn off Asus Anti-surge protection and check if the rails fall with in the 5% threshold. The rails on my PSU do fall within the 5% range.
Also, the PC works absolutely fine. No cut outs, no random restarts, temperatures are in safe ranges and etc. I also ran a GPU stress test for about 30 mins to test the PSU and it completed it with no problems.
Specs:
Mobo: Asus Maximus VIII Ranger
CPU: i7 6700K
Ram: 2x8GB Corsair LPX DDR4 2400mhz
GPU: MSI GTX 980Ti Gaming
PSU: Corsair AX760
SSDs: 1x500GB 850 EVO and 1x250GB 850 EVO (OS)
OS: Windows 10 Home 64 bit
Any insight as to why the Q-Code led doesn't turn off when the PC is turned off would be grateful.
