[Q] Holding camera and camcorder

I have a Sony PC9 camcorder and a larger DSLR. I plan to go for a car
race next month, and would like to use my SLR for detailed shots, and
the camcorder to capture the overall ambience. I was thinking of
making a small sling bag to hold the PC9 with its lens protruding, and
just carry it around with me this way, while my hands stay on my SLR.

Does anyone have any better ideas?

1) Be sure to shine your shoes carefully before you go, so that the
shots of your feet will not be embarrassing.

2) Be sure to carry a very large sign on the bag identifying the
hidden camcorder, so that you aren't arrested for voyeurism. That
could spoil your whole day ;-)

Try it out before the race day. I doubt you'll get anything usable
from the sling bag camera.

Why not film less things, but film them properly?

Hehehe... I'm going through editing some 10 to15 year old tapes. I have
some great nostalgic feet shots of the kids growing up. Looking for some
good appropriate background music.

You should add the song to your video "I love my feet" by Shona Laing"

Enter in the race, mount the camera on the dash :)

I've done that a few times....

Years ago I did a time lapse sunrise and cloud movement. I covered my black
body camera with a towel to protect it from the sun. Just as I started to
leave I checked everything carefully and put the lens cap back on out of
habit as I walked away. Much more boring than foot shots...
