Greetings

I'm considering for $135 the

ASRock Fatal1ty Z97X Killer LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Anyone has a better option that doesn't go past the price range?

USE: GAMING

At this price range I use the MSI or Gigabyte Gaming 5's. I have a $300 Maximus Formula and subsequent builds I have done with these boards ($125 - $145 ish typically) outperform it by a substantial margin. The both also have lower number of highly negative user reviews on newegg.

AsRock - 18% negative 1 egg user reviews
Gigabyte - 15% negative 1 egg user reviews
MSI - 10% negative 1 egg user reviews

JackNaylorPE You gave me plenty to think about. It seems across the world the GAMING 5 is better than FATAL1TY.

Nice chart you brought to the table. Where can I find more? I typed the mobos and benchmark in the search and didnt find shit.

Which would you go for? (note will buy i7 processor)

MSI Z97A GAMING 6 $149.99 ?
MSI Z97 GAMING 5 $149.99 ?
GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-Gaming 7 $144.99 ?

Thank you very much!

That's from overclock3d site. Here's more

I recently paid $125 for the last MSI Gaming 5 so that was a steal. It replaced the user's originally planned Asus Hero ($208) which doesn't quite measure up to the G5 in features, component quality, performance as well as number of extremely negative (1 egg) newegg user reviews (the Hero has almost double the MSI .... Asus has an easier BIOS tho.

If the USB 3.1 grabs you, it might be a reason to vet the G6 but it's not as if there exists anything to plug into it. Gigabyte's Z97X is beastly with their high quality 12 phase power supply, but their BIOS I find a bit of a struggle to work in. My son recently did Gigabyte SOC Force board and it's been a great performer . The separation between the 2 GFX cards is great.

Although admittedly ASrock has improved greatly, and it's been quite a while since I have had an issue (1156 socket board) .... I'm still bearing a grudge from the budget build experiences from days gone by ... thin / warped boards, bulging / leaking caps and 1-2 year warrantees.
