Just did first overclock, Q6600 @ 3.3ghz on a MSI p35 platinum mobo, going off of Bert Topelt's good article on Tom's site. Air cooling with a Zalman 9700 and current have the side panel off so a bit extra air flow.

Lowered vcore to 1.265, booted at 3.3 ghz, and then ran Prime 95 for 3 hours with no errors.
I didn't think it would run stably at that speed with such a low voltage.
Anyone have similar experience?

Screen shot shows test with load temps from speed fan. Other shot shows when I ended the test just a few minutes short of 3 hours. I'll probably put the side on this weekend and re-test.

Any recommendations? Should I increase FSB and vcore voltage to try 3.4ghz? I'm a little hesitant to push it to the limit since I'm not watercooling (next rig for that).

What's the cooler?

3.3 is where I stopped because of heat...with your hottest core at 65c you might want to do the same.

otherwise you need more cooling...or a lapped heat sink and CPU

temp seems a bit high
for that OC ! at 3.4 ghz i get max 59 with a sonic tower 120mm fanx2
and my vcore still at 1.40 cause im still testing ....
