my q6600 overclocked to 3ghz using stock cooler shows idle temp 49-53C.full load it goes above 70C..will these temps cause a problem?will they shorten life time of processor?

Solution
those temps are withing operating temperature and are safe. though 70 degrees sounds like mayhem and all, but it isn't. 70 degrees may shorten lifetime by a small margin but not by a whole lot. There should be no problem caused, no.

Though I would suggest buying a cheap CPU cooler if you would like more reasonable temps, around ~$20.

Hope this helps.
