So this is my first OC and I was doing great up till i tried for 3.4 GHz (i know I just might not be able to do it)...

Here's my situation:
378x9

1.36250v - Failed Boot
1.37500v - Failed Boot
1.40000v - Failed Boot
1.41250v - Boot
- P95: Cores 3&4 (C2&C3) instantly fail
1.42500v - Boot
- P95: BSOD
Retry - P95: Core 3 instantly failed, then STOP 0x0000124

Then I went back to 3.2Ghz stable and I had a Vista Boot Error (STOP 0x0000218 - Registry File Failure, System could not Load Hive)
I "repaired" Vista (I will reinstall Vista; I plan on dual-booting x64 and x32 when I get a new hard drive)

I went through some more posts and couldn't find anything obviously simple... so I went into the BIOS and loaded my default 3.4GHz profile with everything set to auto.

PC Health shows:
VCore @ 1.428v
DDR18V @ 1.888v

Before I drop back into this venture, am I at the point where I should be looking at MCH and ICH or RAM..

I just want to make sure I have a course of action before I start.

*Should I be getting BSOD errors like this:
- IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal
- STOP 0x...124
- STOP 0x...A
- System Registry File Failure

Need full system specs.

Is your RAM running at the manufacturer's suggested voltage? Check the website.

The ds3l guide is for the P35 board, but there cannot be much difference.

System:

Antec 650W Power Supply
- crossfire certifired
Intel Core2Quad Q6600
- G0 stepping
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P
- rev 1.0
G.Skill DDR2 800 (4 x 2GB)
- 1.8v to 2.0v (off the box)
Sapphire Radeon 4850 512
- standard clock
CoolMaster HyperZ 600R CPU Cooler
Acer X223WBD 22' Widescreen LCD Monitor

Windows Vista x64 Business
- I having been experiencing random issues from hardware failure to drive signing issues
- I have disabled UAC, driver signing, and security

I have read most of these guides, but thanks..

I guess I just wanted to make sure that consistantly losing core 3 is normal (!?!) and that these errors (specifically that Page File Error) are common and should be expected.... I've run my RAM through MEMTest, but only for about 8hrs....

Sorry for the delay, finals suck....

I was forced to switch over to Vista Business 32-bit... I'm stable @ 3.20GHz

CoreTemp VID: 1.3125v

At the moment I am stable @ 3.2Ghz with 1.392v (AUTO setting in BIOS)... but I will find my lower limit @ 3.2 this weekend... then I want to push to 3.4....

I did lock my RAM @ 1:1, 5-5-5-15, and 800... I ran memtest for 12hr with no errors...

any general suggestions for my Mobo??
