just set it to mode 2 seems the same not worried this shits bad ass.

It starts at 3.0 then drops to 2.0 what is that about?

core speed?

Yes. SpeedStep will drop the CPU multiplier for 9 to 6 under idling or light loads. Run something demanding like Prime95 and watch the CPU speed incease to what you have it set to.

You can turn SpeedStep off. Go to the advance BIOS features page in the BIOS. Look for an entry about EIST and turn it off. EIST stands for "Enhanced Intel SpeedStep".

Some people are just too dumb to read their manual or the sticky.

So tell me?

this topic was solved yet you felt the need to indoctrinate me, I am not unfamiliar with forums.

it is insulting and intolerant you are the one who needs a reality check not my self-

thank you, (unsubbed)

The topic/thread would not have existed if you had taken the time to read the sticky or do a search. Do you have any idea how many "My processor is not running at the right speed" posts are made? Far too many, I can tell you. That's why he posted the thread that was made into a sticky. The joke was that no one would read it anyway, and you are case in point.

I didn't give you a hard time, I just posted the sticky. It goes into great detail. Did you even bother to read it? You're lucky, based on the number of these CPU speed posts, some OPs have gotten a lot more grief from a lot more members.

You get a little grief and you go into a tizzy. Me thinks you need a little thicker skin.

jsc didn't even give you the full answer, he may be tired of this question as well. There is also something called C1E, which is covered in the sticky. You should read it.

Yes you did, short and to the point, and I should have mentioned that. I guess you are more tired of these posts than jsc. Or maybe you figured that they might use the key word speedstep and Google it. Nah, no one does that, they won't even read the stickies.
