Hey guys, I recently just got back to my house for break and thought about upgrading my old hp pavillion a6152n desktop. It has a Q6600 and I plan to reuse it and essentially build a new computer with a new case and a power supply ~680 w range. I have found some motherboards I could use, and I was wondering what/where you might suggest? Its hard finding a socket 775 that meets todays needs, and this is where I ask you guys for help with upgrading to a motherboard with ddr2/ddr3 (what would be best, considering I can overclock cpu/etc and match memory speed, etc. once I get a mobo worked out), PCI-E 2.0 (or does it matter, since I plan on getting a graphics card in the caliber of a nvidia 550ti (suggestions open).
