Hello everyone I have a question that needs the pros answer.

Firstly here is my specs.
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 333x8 1.325v (Xigmatek S1283 with ACK-I755)
Evga 8800GT 512mb (future 4870)
4x 1GB G-skill PC6400 DDR2 800
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 Intel P45
TX750w Corsair PSU
Seagate ST3320620AS 7200RPM 320gb
Windows Vista Ultimate x64

I have the newer G0 @ VID 1.325

Screenshot of prime etc

Now @ 333x9 I had to set it from 1.300v to 1.325v since core 3 kept getting errors 1 min into prime95 I have ran it for over a hour now and no issues.

Sadly though my ram @ 1:1 is 667 so I want my 800mhz timings are 5-5-5-15 @ factory standard and 1.8v.

Temps idle temps are 30-28-24-27 800RPM in a 22c room Prime95 load temps are 47-46-43-45 1050RPM they peak 50c but when the fan kicks up it goes back down.

Now I want to make my memory 800 @ 1:1 so I thought if I put it @ 400x8 = 3.2ghz which was my original "goal" for my CPU. Issue is @ 1.325v I can't load Vista without it rebooting.

Should I just increase small incriminates till I can run stable? How high should I take the volts before I risk damaging my parts? I would be seriously screwed if I shorted the MB or CPU at this junction.

Everything looks good to continue on?

You could set your vcore to auto and let the mb start at x amount of volts. Usually the mb will overvolt so from that initial value, you can lower the vcore and test stability until you reach the minimum volts. My chip has a high VID of 1.32500 so I don't want to get to 3.2 without a better hsf.

Well might I suggest the S1283 from Zigmatek...atm can pick one up off newegg with bracket for 40 bucks + 10 mail-in rebate.

Thus far has been a great cooler.

I've got mine to 3.6 with 1.45v. As long as you're under 1.5 you'll be fine. Bump up the N/B voltage if you want your ram to to 1:1.

Mine does 400x8 @ 1.325 but I had to set it to 1.3375 in the BIOS because of vdroop(vdroop being the difference between what is set in the BIOS and what is delivered to the chip). Perhaps thats what is effecting you?

Well I had to bump it to 1.3500v and I disabled intels vdroop and enabled my motherboards vdroop (couldn't disable it fully)

So far prime95 stable @ 10 mins going to give it a hour though before I say yippy to my 3.2ghz and 800mhz ram ^-^

Thanks everyone...especially you Jdocs. your suggestion I think was the main problem.

Also give me a break I was sleepy when I posted my reply last night V3nom ^-^

Hmm 20c room temps seem rather high on the "2nd test" for prime95. I am curious are any of these tests "normal use" or is it just to stress the chip to see if it will crash?
